The Nikon D90 is a full function tool that gives you the flexibility to create great photos. This is a fantastic model for the photo enthusiast. You can be as “automated” as you want to be or you can take control to a significant extent. It’s really up to you. I’m still coming to terms with its capabilities and loving it. Purchased as a refurbished unit from Cameta Cameras I got it at a great price ($765) vs the new price. It came with a 90 day warranty from Nikon and a 1 year warranty from Cameta.
