    this is my first DSLR. i am accustomed to shooting pictures with a canon 35mm film camera. the t3i is a great camera. a novice would find the default setting easy to use. still haven’t learned all the bells and whistles of the creative settings, but am very please with my purchase. sunset electronics delivered the camera fast and in great condition. overall i am happy with all the accessories that came with the camera.

    I have a little experience with SLR photography and did have some experience in the past with a medium format camera. My purposes for this camera were for family portraits, landscapes and wildlife photography. My intention was to use as a primary lens; the 55-250mm for birds down at the local park and portraits. To date I have owned the camera setup for one week.

    This is a quality camera with a good range of options when considering the two lenses which come with this package. I have found use for the two of the three filters (polarizer and UV) and have not used the third. The filters I have used seem to work just fine. The tripod is lightweight and useful indoors our outdoors where there is little wind. It’s fairly flimsy in build overall and I would rather have something sturdier. The telephoto and macro lens add ons were useless for me. They produce extremely soft imagery which turned me off. The camera bag fits one lens and the camera body with some of the accessories but is not adequate for both lenses and the camera body. The camera bag is adequate for protecting the camera to and from shooting locations and inside a backpack. The USB card reader worked just fine for me. Although my laptop has an SD Card reader I have a use where I can plug it into my wife’s Mac which doesn’t have an SD Card reader. The digital editing software which comes with the camera is fairly decent on my Windows 7 operating system, with one exception. I couldn’t figure out how to crop images and so I decided to use UFRaw with GIMP which are free options.The additional batteries work just great; as if they are factory batteries.

    The lenses which come in this package are optically decent and can produce good images if the user understands their respective limitations and are willing to exercise some patience in that regard. For example, I had a hard time learning that the 55-250mm lens is not the ideal lens for fast moving birds. Although with some research regarding technique and application of that technique I was able to succeed under specific conditions. Such is photography at times. The colors from both lenses and cameras look great. Getting two lenses with IS (Image Stabilizer) seems to be a good decision thus far as most of my shots are hend held. The 18-55m lens does quite well at flowers and landscapes of mountains. This lens turned out to be wider than I had anticipated and that is a positive mark. Both lenses are fairly loud with autofocus and if this a concern for you then you might consider a quiet lens or using manual focus under some conditions. Especially for wildlife photographers.

    Overall I am pleased with the products and shipping speed from the seller.

    I thought this was a great deal for all the stuff you got in the set. The only problem was my husband has been trying to use the USB memory stick and it isn’t working. That’s why I didn’t give it all stars.
